Since the end of April 2026, filming for new episodes of the successful ZDF series “Mountain Medic” has been taking place in and around Ellmau. Hans Sigl once again stars as Dr. Martin Gruber. The cast also includes Heiko Ruprecht, Monika Baumgartner, Ronja Forcher, Natalie O’Hara, Mark Keller, Rebecca Immanuel, Hilde Dalik, Barbara Lanz, Annika Ernst, Frédéric Brossier, Lieselotte Voß and Ylvi Unertl.
In the eight new episodes, Martin Gruber faces major challenges both professionally and personally. He continues to be supported by the familiar team around Dr. Vera Fendrich, Dr. Alexander Kahnweiler and Dr. Angelika Rüdiger. At the same time, Franziska’s return to the Gruberhof with her son Johann leads to emotional conflicts within the family.
The episodes are directed by Kerstin Ahlrichs, Alexander Thiel, Ralph Polinski and Tanja Roitzheim. The scripts are written, among others, by head writers Lisa Cloth and Nikolaus Müllerschön. The series is produced by Matthias Walther and Katrin Frach for NDF: neue deutsche Filmgesellschaft mbH. Filming is scheduled to continue until December 2026, with the new season expected to air in winter 2027.
