The early evening series “Morden im Norden” (Murder in the North) is getting its second primetime movie: The 90-minute crime drama “Weil du böse bist” (Because you are evil, working title) with Sven Martinek, Ingo Naujoks, Julia E. Lenska and Jonas Minthe in the leading roles is being filmed in Lübeck, Hamburg and the surrounding area until July 11. The script was written by Mike Bäuml and directed by Tanja Roitzheim. The film is expected to be broadcast in January 2026 on ARD and in the ARD Mediathek. The first feature film of “Morden im Norden”, “Am Abgrund” (At the abyss), reached around 5.6 million viewers in early 2024 and achieved a strong market share of 19.2 percent.
In the new special “Weil du böse bist” (AT), the Lübeck homicide squad is faced with an almost impossible task: two years after the disappearance of a young woman, Inspector Finn Kiesewetter (Sven Martinek) is convinced that he has convicted the murderer. But the court does not consider him guilty and acquits the accused. When the remains of the missing woman are discovered shortly afterwards, the evidence grows stronger – but a new prosecution is not legally possible. Together with his colleagues Lars Englen (Ingo Naujoks), Nina Weiss (Julia E. Lenska) and Gregor Michalski (Jonas Minthe), Finn Kiesewetter does everything he can to bring the perpetrator to justice after all. The situation escalates when a key witness disappears without a trace.
“The case becomes very personal for Detective Finn Kiesewetter: his emotional bond with the victim’s family throws him off balance,” says Sven Martinek about his role in the case. “He has to free himself from anger and feelings of guilt – in order to see clearly and recognize the truth.”
Other roles include Tessa Mittelstaedt, Christoph Tomanek, Karoline Eichhorn and Thomas Sarbacher.
