“In the hero narrative on the mountain, there are those who are admirable and those who are afraid – but that’s not true. Everyone is afraid and it’s just a question of how you deal with it.” The women in the German Alpine Club’s expedition squad train to deal with risk and fear – because this sharpens the senses and activates unexpected physical strength. This is the only way they can weigh up the most difficult of all decisions as a team: If you want to live a long life, you have to have the courage to abort an expedition. Dizzying drone footage accompanies the women on their way from dangerous cliffs to the summit, while reflective conversations deal with euphoria, willpower, closeness to nature, team spirit and fears. A fascinating film about boundaries and boundlessness.
