Around 40 percent of people in Germany suffer from a chronic disease, some for decades. As a result, 25 million years of life are lost every year. Chronic diseases are often caused by an interplay of genes, environmental factors, and lifestyle. The consequences affect all of us: the ones affected, but even society and the public coffers. How could the involved get better support?
In her documentary, which will air in the context of the 3sat format “WissenHoch2,” Christina Gantner sheds light on the background and searches for possible solutions. After the broadcast on June 1, the documentary will be available for streaming in the media libraries for 3sat and ZDF.
