The ndF Group has double reason to celebrate at this year’s Grimme Awards!

“We like it honest, loud and a little weird, and clearly we’re not alone with that,” says producer Charlotte Groth from LAX Entertainment, celebrating together with the entire team the Grimme Prize for their ZDFneo series “Tschappel”, which was created in collaboration with Apollonia Film. Following nominations such as the German Television Award for Best Comedy Series and accolades like the Nachwuchspreis of the Blauer Panther or the DAfFne for Best Director, the renowned award from Marl now joins the list.

“It’s fantastic to see that this material strikes a chord,” continues Charlotte Groth, “and that a young and broad audience can be newly inspired by stories rooted in local culture. That is exactly LAX’s approach! We are very grateful for the great creative trust from ZDF and are now excited to start season 2 with as many as 10 episodes.”

In addition to the award for “Tschappel”, the ndF Group can celebrate another Grimme Prize. The Prime Video series “Gerry Star”, which was produced by ndF subsidiary Prater Film as a service production for Pyjama Pictures, was also honored.
