At the crime scene, the team from the Hamburg Institute of Forensic Science (KIH) has just one chance to secure the crucial evidence before it is lost forever. After all, after just 48 hours, the chances of solving the crime and bringing the perpetrators to justice are cut in half.

Led by forensic biologist and entomologist Prof. Dr. Tim Kohlbeck (Josha Kiefer), the team solves criminal cases through the precise science of forensic investigation. They are supported by Chief Detective Katrin Schuhmann (Luise Bähr), whose insight into human nature enables her to obtain confessions from suspects when the evidence fails to tell a clear story.
